The harvest museum - Hondschoote

The harvest museum

It is the adventure of a few friends who had one day the idea, certainly a bit farfetched, of planting a few vines and making wine in the land of beer.

The first vintage looked more like vinegar, but that did not discourage them and other companions joined this group of friends.

Each brought his skills and his contribution through his relationships, including a Vouvray winemaker, honorary citizen of Hondschoote since 2009, who advised them on planting, pruning and winemaking process.

It was necessary to find a name to this great joyful team.

Thus was born the Association "Les Tastewijn", also called "The Companions of the Wine of Flanders". Every year, they celebrate the Harvest Festival, the 3rd Sunday of October. Thanks to generous donors, they managed to create the Harvest Museum in the cellars of the Hondschoote Town Hall.

The exhibition will bring you back to the tradition of the vineyards of Flanders thanks to the "Fleur de Lin" wine.

Visit the museum with tasting all year round and visit the vineyard from June to October by appointment only.

The price inclued the visit of the museum, tasting offered and glass taken away.
