The Belfry of Bergues

Located in the heart of the city, the history of the belfry is closely linked to that of the city of Bergues. He is now world famous thanks to the film "Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis".

Equipped with 50 bells, it punctuates the city by ringing its ritornello every quarter of an hour. During the ascent of the 206 steps of the spiral staircase, you will have the opportunity to visit 4 recently renovated exhibition rooms, to finish on the walkway which gives you access to the carillonneur's cabin and a superb view of the Flemish plain.

It is open to visitors, in small groups of a maximum of 19 people, per time slot.

From April to October: Monday to Saturday ascents at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sundays and bank holidays ascents at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.

From November to March: Monday to Saturday ascents at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Guided tours of the belfry and carillon are organized every 1st Saturday of each month.

The Tourist Office offers you a virtual visit experience of the belfry !

Without moving, in a room at the foot of the belfry, you will follow our 2 virtual guides on a 20-minute guided tour that will take you through the rooms but also into the carillonneur's cabin and on the walkway! You can then return freely to the different places to deepen the discovery.

Possible activity, from 10 years old, every day at 10:30 a.m. or 3:15 p.m.
